Caregiver support groups offer family caregivers the opportunity to share their experiences and learn from others dealing with similar issues.

There are many caregiver support groups located throughout the greater Minneapolis – Saint Paul MN area. If you don’t see a support group to your liking listed below, we suggest that you contact your local senior center, hospital, church, senior organization or an association which focuses on specific diseases such as Alzheimer’s. You don’t have to go it alone!

Prince of Peace hosts a Caregiver Support Group in partnership with DARTS. A support group can be a great source of help and inspiration for those caring for loved ones. The support group provides a safe, supportive environment where questions are answered, ideas are discussed, and friendships shared. The group is facilitated by Lori Angus, Licensed Social Worker from DARTS.

Nine Mile Senior Living offers a once a month support group for spouses within our community who are dealing with their loved one’s dementia or other physical and emotional needs. The Cherrywood Pointe Connections Memory Support Group is a free, safe, supportive, engaging place for care givers to have time with other care givers. Lyngblomsten: Memory Loss Caregivers Support Groups
Family and friends who have a loved one experiencing Alzheimer’s or related dementia are welcome to attend. All groups are open to the community. Come as often as you are able. Support group facilitators are trained through the Alzheimer’s Association.
